About Meshware
As it says on the side of the tin, Meshware is here to help you find your next node for the LoRa mesh. Right now we cover Meshtastic, MeshCore and UMSH.
Sort and filter the table, or use the picker to help you find what you want next. Maybe this is your first piece of hardware. We'll help you find the right places to buy it from, too.
Where the data comes from
We scour the web: manufacturers' pages, datasheets, the Mesh docs, reviews, firmwares and so on. We validate and review the catalog before it's published. We're not perfect, so we'll always be fixing things as we go. For every spec we try to link to where we found it.
If we're not sure, it's shown as Unknown. The device may or may not have the feature. We just couldn't confirm it.
Some specs don't fit in tidy little boxes, especially when they differ by region. Check the Notes section on the devices page to helps clear those up. Every device also shows when its info was last updated. Prices change, and more details become available as time progresses.
Hardware features
Device type:
- Dev-board - bare boards and DIY kits.
- Card - credit-card-sized nodes.
- Wearable - nodes made to be worn, like watches.
- Handheld - finished portable nodes with a keyboard or touchscreen.
- Tracker - smaller portable nodes that aren't cards, wearables or handhelds, plus anything the maker calls a tracker.
- Fixed node - installed stations, including repeater hardware.
Antenna type is the stock arrangement:
- Internal - this node has an antenna built in.
- External - this node has an external antenna, and we show the connector type.
In some cases you can swap internal for external. Any details we know about are in the Notes section.
Dedicated solar input means a connection meant for a solar panel. Charging over USB or a magnetic cable doesn't count.
Product status
- Active - it's available for sale or backorder.
- Coming soon - announced or on preorder, but not shipping yet.
- EOL - it's no longer available to buy.
- DIY design - a community-published project you typically build yourself. If a completed design can be purchased, a price is listed. If it's only a design, the price is N/A.
Meshtastic vs MeshCore hardware
Manufacturers and retailers sometimes list the same device separately as “Meshtastic” and “MeshCore” versions. In many cases, the hardware is identical: the name tells you which firmware is already installed, saving you a flashing step.
If you're comfortable using a flashing tool, you can switch between Meshtastic and MeshCore on a device supported by both. Check the support shown on its device page before choosing a firmware. Buying one version doesn't lock you into that mesh.
What the firmware checkmarks mean
Each project labels support its own way, so we use their terms.
- Meshtastic: straight from Meshtastic's own device list, which splits devices into two tiers.
- Official: the manufacturer backs it through Meshtastic's Backer and Partner programs, so the core team supports it.
- Community: the community supports it. It still runs the regular Meshtastic firmware. The project just doesn't officially vouch for it.
- MeshCore ✓ Supported: there's a firmware build for this exact device in the official MeshCore flasher or releases. It doesn't promise every role or feature works, so check the notes.
- UMSH: we follow the UMSH hardware page’s “Validated on hardware” and “Partly validated” classifications. Planned devices are shown as Unsupported until firmware is available.
- ✗ Unsupported: we haven’t found support for this device in the firmware projects we track. Where a known incompatibility is documented, we link the source and include any useful explanation.
Affiliate links
Some of the "Where to buy" links are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may get a small commission at no extra cost to you.
Affiliate or not, we're neutral here. The data we show isn't affected, and neither is the ranking or the order things are listed in. We want you to get the best device for your individual usecase. If that happens to earn us a few cents to keep this site online and up to date, it's a win-win.
Mistakes, questions, new hardware?
If you see something wrong, know the right answer, or have new hardware we should list, email suggestions@meshware.net -- We'll get it sorted.
Tell us which device, what's wrong, and a link to the right info if you have one. Screenshots are fine too (images or PDFs, up to 5).
And yes we welcome emails from makers/manufacturers/vendors too.
